On the dawn of 29th June 2019, there seemed to be a unique kind of festivity in St. Peter’s School. Amidst the cool gentle showers of rain, the Peterites looking handsome in greys, were all set to march to the St. Peter’s Church, on the occasion of the celebration of the Feast of Apostle St. Peter.
To mark the day, a special prayer service was organised at St. Peter’s Church from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m., under the leadership of Rev. Daniel Raj. After everybody being seated, the mass began with a hymn “Oh, Lord! My God, followed by other choruses as well. The pastor drew everybody’s attention by asking a few students to look for something that was hidden near. Later he brought the focused on the term ‘Knowledge’ and explained how one can become knowledgeable with God. He shared the story of St. Peters and John in an interesting way. The sermon was relevant and easy to comprehend. The school choir sang such melodious hymns, under the guidance of Mr Steven Young, the choir teacher and Mr James Biswah, the music teacher, that it stole everybody’s heart. The church service came to an end with a hymn “Go the Mountain”, followed by a prayer and Benediction. For the entire school, the feast was arranged at school which was relished by everyone.
The Principal, Dr Wilfred Noronha, staff members and students thanked the Almighty God for his blessings and for the grand celebration of St. Peter’s Day.
