Let’s salute the Country on this auspicious day.
On the occasion of our country completing it’s 72 years of Independence on 15th August 2019. St. Peter’s School with the students, parents, guests & staff members celebrated the 73rd Independence Day with great enthusiasm.
The Celebration began with Mr Mandhare, our faculty member welcoming everyone present for the occasion. To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, Dr Noronha, our Principal unfurled the tricolour, and all in unison sang the National Anthem and expressed the joy of the country’s freedom. The program moved ahead with the prayer for blessing and protecting our country from all sorts of evils. The school choir presented the patriotic Song describing the glory of the country & the value of maintaining our country’s freedom.
One of Shakespeare’s quotes says, ‘Sweet are the uses of adversity’. The sweetness is which we enjoy as free Indians living in a free and developed country with advance amenities & the adversities were those faced by our ancestors in terms of bondage, humiliation, disrespect, and brutality while achieving freedom. It is a day to pay tribute to all those who sacrificed their lives to make our country Independent, a day to salute our saviours & all those who did their bit for protecting and giving us a country free of slavery. The students were explained, the true meaning of freedom and for them to get rid of anything that could be a hindrance in their growth and development, be it negative thoughts or ill feelings for others as well as for themselves. ‘Soch Badlo’ a skit about the importance of water conservation & protection of the environment, as they can be a big threat to the country’s freedom and human existence was presented by the students.
